Sysdig adds runtime security controls for AI agents
The security vendor says its platform now watches what AI agents actually do at runtime and blocks risky actions before they reach production systems.

Sysdig has extended its security platform to cover AI agents, adding runtime monitoring and governance features that the company says track agent actions and block risky behaviour before it reaches production systems. The addition was reported by SecurityWeek on 4 November 2026.
According to SecurityWeek, the approach rests on runtime visibility — that is, observing what software is doing while it is running, rather than only inspecting code or configuration beforehand. Sysdig is applying that same idea to AI agents, which are programs that take actions on their own, such as calling tools, running commands or changing cloud resources. The company says the platform records those actions and can stop ones judged risky before they affect live systems.
The pitch reflects a practical problem for security teams. Traditional controls assume a human or a fixed script is behind each action, with predictable patterns of behaviour. An agent driven by a language model can choose its own sequence of steps, which makes it harder to say in advance exactly what it will do. Runtime enforcement sidesteps that uncertainty by judging each action as it happens.
SecurityWeek describes the offering as combining security with governance, the second term covering the question of who is accountable for an agent's behaviour and what it is permitted to do. In practice, governance in this setting usually means keeping a record of agent activity and applying policy to it, though the details of Sysdig's implementation were not set out in the report.
The report does not state which agent frameworks or model providers are supported, how the blocking decisions are made, or whether the capability is included in existing Sysdig subscriptions. It also does not give a general availability date or name customers using the feature.
Sysdig is one of several infrastructure security vendors moving to cover agent activity as organisations begin running agents against production cloud environments. Buyers evaluating such products will want to know how an enforcement layer behaves when it is wrong — whether a blocked action fails safely, how an operator overrides it, and what the latency cost is on a long chain of agent steps. Those questions are not addressed in the material published so far, and prospective users will need to put them to the vendor directly.
